Cash reduces market risk and preserves the ability to act later. It is not evidence of indecision when entry conditions are absent.
The pressure to stay active often comes from boredom, comparison, or the mistaken belief that every session must produce income.
Optionality has value
Liquidity allows a trader to respond when dislocation creates better structure. Capital tied up in mediocre positions cannot be redeployed efficiently.
Flat cash can be the most disciplined position on the board.
